An exhibition inspired by the heritage of Rosedale Abbey on the North Yorkshire Moors takes place in the remote location of the Updale Reading Room, Rosedale on the 5th and 6th December.
Artist Andrew Cheetham has spent a year exploring Rosedale and the surrounding moors. He has been documenting the remains of the Iron Ore Mines and rows of cottages along with the marker stones and trods of the moors. He has also been working on paintings of the landscape capturing the effects of the changing seasons.
Andrew has added a new gallery of images from his year as Artist-in-Residence in Rosedale.

Andrew will be exhibiting work at the Masham Arts Festival in St. Mary's Church, Masham, North Yorkshire.
The Festival takes place from 23rd October to 31st October 2009.

Andrew is once again taking part in the North Yorkshire Open Studios.
This year Andrew will be showing his work as Artist in Residence in Rosedale Abbey.
He will therefore be based at The Reading Room in Rosedale, YO18 8RQ.
The dates are Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June and Friday 26th, Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June.

Andrew has recently been out sketching on the North York Moors above Rosedale and Farndale with fellow artists Jim Wright and Andrea Bailey.
The results of these trips, along with a selection of other works by the artists will be exhibited at Zillah Bell Gallery in Thirsk.
Andrew is one of six artists selected for the Art Connections 'Inspired by Heritage' Residency programme, supported by the Esmee Fairnbarn Foundation.
Andrew will be working in and around the village of Rosedale Abbey on the North York Moors throughout 2009, exploring the dale and moors, observing and recording the effects of the changing seasons on this beautiful landscape.
Andrew is featured in the November 2008 issue of 'Country Living'
The article focuses on his work documenting the Scarborough Fishing Industry, alongside fellow artist Kane Cunningham.
In September 2007 Andrew was commissioned by The Friends of Scarborough Art Gallery to produce a painting to celebrate The Gallery's 60th Anniversary.
The resulting painting, North Bay, will be officially unveiled and hung by group chairman Paul McCabe on 24th September.
Andrew will be exhibiting at the Newcastle Gateshead Art Fair.
This year it is being held at The Sage, from the 11th to the 14th September.
Andrew will be exhibiting with Bianco Nero Gallery.
